Emergency Operations Wireless Policy

I am an employee of the City of San Rafael (“City”). I have a personal cell phone. I understand that I am not required to use my personal cell phone as part of my employment with the City.

I understand that my employer, the City, may in the case of an emergency, contact me regarding emergency responses provided by the City. I authorize the City to contact me, including by sending text messages, to my personal cell phone, in such situations in order to notify me whether or not I am needed to report and participate in work related to the Emergency Operations Command (EOC).

I further understand that the City maintains certain City-owned technology to which I have access and will utilize in the course of my employment. In order to assist the City in maintaining access to such technology, and for the purposes of authorizing digital updates, password confirmations, or similar actions related to the use of that technology, I authorize the use of my personal cell phone (i.e. to received passwords and/or personal identification numbers for identification authentication.)

I acknowledge that receiving texts and phone calls on my personal cell phone may result in additional charges based upon my personal cell phone contract, and I authorize the City to contact me as described herein, and further that it is my responsibility to pay the charges related to such communications from the City.
