Flags to Half-Staff until further notice

Please be advised that San Rafael Mayor Gary Phillips and Governor Brown have authorized that the flag of the United States be lowered and flown at half-staff at San Rafael facilities until further notice, in honor and remembrance of Cal Fire Heavy Fire Equipment Operator Braden Varney who was tragically killed while fighting the Ferguson Fire on July 14, 2018. Braden leaves behind a wife and two small children. We extend our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the Varney Family and Cal Fire.  Please keep them in your thoughts, as fires continue to rage in California. San Rafael Fire Personnel, please shroud your badges.
