2019 Employee and Team of the Year

Posted on March 12, 2020

2019 was a record-setting year for the Employee Recognition program. We received 50 nominations for either employee or team of the quarter, which collectively recognized approximately 130 different employees. The competition was fierce, but your Team and Employee of the Year are:

Mall Pop-Up

Mall Pop-Up Team!!

In just four days, this incredible team brought together city staff, the Marin County Free Library, and XR Marin to convert a former Payless Shoe store at Northgate Mall into a vibrant community space featuring interactive displays, virtual reality equipment for public use, a 3D printer for public use, a book drop, and an attractively arranged collection of materials in Spanish and English. Despite extensive competition from across the state, the Mall Pop-Up Library Team presented their achievement to rave reviews at the 2019 California Library Association Conference in Pasadena, CA

Quinn

Quinn Gardner!!

Over the past year, Quinn has played a profoundly important role in helping the community prepare for and respond to natural disasters. Quinn collaborated with Chief Gray to finalize the San Rafael Wildfire Action Plan, played a critical role in mobilizing the City’s disaster response during the PSPS, developed and has been leading the “1 Hour to Get Ready” community preparation program, and with extensive competition from across the nation, applied for and successfully obtained, at no cost to the City, a 10-person AmeriCorps team to assist with vegetation management.
