San Rafael Unrepresented Executive Management Employee Benefits

This list is not exhaustive of all benefits for the Unrepresented Executive Management employees.

Health Benefits

Medical City group health coverage, with the City paying a fixed dollar amount (below) toward the cost of the monthly insurance premium.

  • Employee only: $950.00
  • Employee plus one: $1,900.00
  • Family: $2,400.00

Optionally, an employee may waive health insurance offered by the City and receive an opt-out allowance in the amount of the Employee Only contribution amount listed below. Employees must sign an attestation document and provide proof of other group coverage in order to receive this opt-out allowance.

Dental Premium fully paid for employee plus eligible dependents
Vision Premium fully paid for employee plus eligible dependents

Leave Benefits

Vacation execs
Sick 12 days (hours accrue each pay period)
Administrative 10 days per year, prorated if hired after the first of the year
Holidays 12 paid City holidays plus one Floating Holiday
Bereavement Up to 5 days paid leave
Paid Parental Leave (if eligible) Up to 300 hours paid leave. SRMMEA employees also contribute to State Disability Insurance (SDI)
End of Life Care Leave Up to 80 hours paid leave

Retirement

Marin County Retirement System

(MCERA)

Enrollment in the MCERA pension plan, a defined benefit retirement program

  • Tier 2 (hired on or after 7/1/2011): 2% @ 55, Average of 3 highest years
  • Tier 3 PEPRA (hired on or after 1/1/2013): 2% @ 62, Average of 3 highest years

Insurance Coverage

Life Insurance/AD&D $250,000 policy
Long Term Disability 66.67% of salary up to $7,500 per month

Additional Benefits

Gym Membership Reimbursement Up to $16.50 per month
Educational Expense Reimbursement  Up to $1,500 per fiscal year, details of eligibility and requirements are detailed in the MOU
Car Allowance
$350 monthly

Executive Management employees do not contribute to Social Security.
