San Rafael Police Mid-Management Association (SRPMMA) Employee Group Benefits

Benefits January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025

This list is not exhaustive of all benefits for the SRPA employee group.

Visit the Memorandum of Understanding to read in detail about all benefits. The current MOU covers July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2027.

Health Benefits

Medical City group health coverage, with the City paying a fixed dollar amount (below) toward the cost of the monthly insurance premium. Option to opt-out and receive $300 cash-in-lieu, with proof of other insurance.

  • Employee only: $950.00
  • Employee plus one: $1,900.00
  • Family: $2,400.00

Dental Premium fully paid for employee plus eligible dependents.
Vision Premium fully paid for employee. Employee pays for family coverage.

Leave Benefits

Vacation pd vacation accrual
Sick 8 hours per month (hours accrue each pay period)
Holidays 13 paid City holidays
Bereavement Up to 5 days paid leave
Paid Parental Leave (if eligible) Up to 300 hours paid leave. SRMMEA employees also contribute to State Disability Insurance (SDI)
End of Life Care Leave Up to 80 hours paid leave

(MCERA)

Enrollment in the MCERA pension plan, a defined benefit retirement program

Safety Members

  • Tier 1 (hired prior to 7/1/2011): 3% @ 55, Single Highest Year
  • Tier 2 (hired on or after 7/1/2011): 3% @ 55, Average of 3 highest years
  • Tier 3 PEPRA (hired on or after 1/1/2013): 2.7% @ 57, Average of 3 highest years

Non-Safety Members

  • Tier 1 (hired prior to 7/1/2011): 2.7% @ 55, Single Highest Year
  • Tier 2 (hired on or after 7/1/2011): 2% @ 55, Average of 3 highest years
  • Tier 3 PEPRA (hired on or after 1/1/2013): 2% @ 62, Average of 3 highest years

Insurance Coverage

Life Insurance/AD&D $5,000 policy
Long Term Disability $100 to fund a PORAC Long-Term Disability policy. See MOU for details.

Additional Benefits

Gym Membership Reimbursement Up to $50 per month
Bilingual Pay (if eligible) Pay percentage varies by program and designation
Educational Expense Reimbursement  Up to $1,500 per fiscal year, details of eligibility and requirements are detailed in the MOU
Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Incentive Program
Monthly payments for POST Certifications, dependent on position and certification levels
Uniform Allowance Amount varies depending on position
Special Team and Assignments Pay percentage varies by assignment/appointment (Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team,  Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT), Motor Officer Pay, Detective Pay, etc., as detailed in the MOU)

 

The SRPA employee group does not contribute to  Social Security.
