HOW TO USE A DROP BAG TO HOIST A DRY HOSELINE ALOFT
- Firefighter 1 ascends to above ground
- Calls warning before dropping bag
- Drops rope bag
- Firefighter 2 on ground
- Has prepared hose for hoisting
- Tie off hose with rope
- Using appropriate knot
- Hewitt knot (slip knot) and half hitch through bale
- Tends tag line
- Firefighter 1 hoists hose line aloft
- Firefighter 1 unties knot
- From hose coupling/nozzle
- Firefighter 1 pulls required hose aloft
- Firefighter 1 secures hose
- With hose strap
- Under coupling if possible
- Larks foot to hose
- Clove hitch to railing or tool
- Firefighter 1 flakes out hose
- Remove kinks
- Prepare for advancement
- Firefighter 1 calls for water
- Clear kinks
- Bleed nozzle and set pattern
