HOW TO PULL WORKING LINE-QUICK DEPLOY LOOPS

  1. Take position 
    • On tailboard 
    • Facing hose bed 
  2. Grasp Nozzle 
    • With both hands 
    • Place nozzle over left shoulder while rotating to right 
    • Face away from bed 
    • Hold with left hand 
  3. Step off tailboard 
    • Facing away from engine 
    • Safely 
  4. Face hose bed to grab loops 
    • Turn to right 
    • Walk to tailboard 
  5. Put Right arm through loops for desired length 
    • Large loop = 50 feet 
    • Large and Medium = 100 feet 
    • Large, Medium and Smal=150 feet 
  6. Prepare to stretch hose 
    • Turn to left, away from hose bed 
  7. Stretch hose 
    • Knees bent 
    • Lean forward 
    • Walk 
  8. Break hose line 
  9. Connect to discharge  
    • Advise engineer – length, location and nozzle 
  10. Pull to Fire 
    • Dropping loops at desired locations  
  11. Pull additional hose if needed 
    • Use appropriate pull method for situation 
      • Straight pull 
      • 50’ callout 
      • Shoulder loading 
  12.  At fire 
    • Flake out hose 
  13.  Call for water 
    • Verbally, visually or by radio 
    • Check for kinks
